FAQs

What should I expect from the process?

You can expect a collaborative process with a therapist who values your insight and respects your decisions regarding your treatment. Each session is 55 minutes long. In the beginning to maintain momentum, most clients prefer to schedule once per week. I use integrated approaches that focus on wholistic healing and encourage self-connection and empowerment for my clients.

Do you take insurance?

I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I also accept self-paying clients who do not have or choose not to use insurance benefits. If you have health insurance with a company other than Blue Cross Blue Shield, I can provide a superbill for you to use to file a claim for reimbursement from your insurance company on your own.

How long does counseling usually last?

The length of the therapeutic relationship varies depending on each individual’s needs and pace. It is not uncommon to experience progress and resolution within six months to one year. Throughout this collaborative process, we will continue to check in around your goals and assess the benefits and progress being made.

What do those letters behind your name mean?

The MA is the master’s degree that I earned when I went to graduate school to study clinical counseling. Being a LCMHC means that based on my training, education, and experience the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors has deemed me qualified to provide counseling services. The NCC is a national certification that demonstrates my continued commitment to the field of counseling.
